TOKYO, Sept. 13 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 4.8 struck Tokyo's neighboring Saitama Prefecture on Tuesday evening, the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) said.
The temblor struck at 7:12 p.m. local time at a latitude of 35.9 degrees north and a longitude of 139.8 degrees east, the agency said.
The quake struck at a depth of 80 km and registered 3 on Japan's seismic scale which peaks at 7, the agency said.
