SUVA, Sept. 12 (Xinhua) -- New Zealand Trade Minister Todd McClay has postponed his visit to Fiji, the government-owned Fiji Broadcasting Corporation reported on Monday.

McClay has reportedly said that he wanted more discussions between officials on the Pacific Agreement on Closer Economic Relations (PACER) Plus, negotiations on which Fiji has withdrawn, claiming that Australia and New Zealand have been backtracking on the initial agreement that was made.

McClay said Fiji's statement is not a fair reflection of the agreement and having considered the latest development, he will not be coming to Fiji for bilateral trade discussions this week.

Fiji pursues legally binding provisions for labor mobility and development cooperation in the PACER Plus, saying non-legally binding one "means Australia and New Zealand can withdraw these arrangements at any time."
