SINGAPORE, Aug. 17 (Xinhua) -- A fire broke out at a factory in Singapore, with at least 300 residents evacuated Wednesday afternoon.
Thick smoke was seen from a warehouse which belongs to CK Building at Tampines Street at around 1:30 pm. Serial explosions were also heard, according to Lianhe Zaobao.
Five fire engines, two Red Rhinos, two fire bikes, 12 support vehicles and two ambulances were dispatched to extinguish the fire.
According to a statement from Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), the raging fire had been encircled by 6 water jets on the building exterior including the deployment of two aerial monitors. The high fire load of the premises includes paper products, household items and aerosol cans.
