KUALA LUMPUR, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) -- An ammonia leak at a chemical plant in Sabah of Malaysia has killed two workers, Petronas Chemicals Group Berhad, the country's state-owned oil and gas company that owns the plant, said Tuesday.
The leak, which happened at around 9:30 local time on Tuesday morning, had been contained, the company said in a statement.
Another three workers who got injured have received medical treatment, it said, adding "The incident posed no immediate threat to the surrounding communities or environment."
Petronas said an investigation was being carried out to determine the cause of the leak.
