NEW YORK, Aug. 4 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale jolted Volcano Islands, Japan region, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said on Thursday.
The epicenter, with a depth of 516.74 km, was initially determined to be at 24.9847 degrees north latitude and 141.9581 degrees east longitude.
