BEIJING, July 30 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao declared open the 2016 "Soong Ching Ling Cup" China-Asean Youth Football Friendly Matches here on Saturday.
The tournament, jointly sponsored by China Soong Ching Ling Foundation, China-ASEAN Center and Chinese Football Association, marked the 25th anniversary of China-ASEAN dialogue relationship.
The mission of China Soong Ching Ling Foundation, founded in 1982, is to promote international friendship and safeguard world peace.
Ten youth teams from Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and host China attended the five-day tournament.
A thousand people, including the diplomats from the ASEAN countries, attended the opening ceremony at the Beijing Institute of Technology.
