KUALA LUMPUR, July 22 (Xinhua) -- Malaysia's central bank, Bank Negara, said Tuesday that its international reserves amounted to 390.8 billion ringgit (97.3 billion U.S. dollars) as of July 15.
The international reserves were consisted of 89.3 billion U.S. dollars in foreign currency reserves, 0.8 billion U.S. dollars in International Monetary Fund (IMF) Reserves Position, 1.2 billion U.S. dollars in Special Drawing Rights (SDRs), 1.5 billion U.S. dollars in gold and 4.5 billion U.S. dollars in other reserves assets.
According to the central bank, the decline in reserves level in U.S. dollar terms was mainly due to the quarterly adjustment for foreign exchange revaluation changes.
Its reserves position is sufficient to finance 8.2 months of retained imports and is 1.2 times the short-term external debt. Enditem
