With more and more people from south and west China participating in winter sports, the popularity of winter sports in east China's Jiangsu province began to grow fast. The Century Star Rink located in Nanjing Olympic Center is the biggest indoor ice rink in Nanjing. The club only had dozens of members in 2008, but now it has more than 20,000 members. At the mean time, the club cooperates with 8 elementary schools in neighborhood to open classes teaching skating skills. About 10,000 pupils learned the basic skills of skating and 4 ice hockey squads were founded in last 9 years. A total of 15 small outdoor ski resorts have also been set up in northern Jiangsu province.
