Quanzhou, a port city known as the starting point of the ancient maritime silk road, has one of the richest religious and ethnic blends in the country. It is dubbed the religious museum. Cultural heritage from ancient churches, mosques and temples testify to the different cultural exchanges that were brought in alongside trade. Quanzhou received a recommendation from the UNESCO China office in January to apply for 2018 world cultural heritage status. (Xinhua/Song Weiwei)
