BERLIN, May 4 (Xinhua) -- Bilateral trade between Germany and Russia has registered a significant rise this year, Deutsche Presse-Agentur (DPA) reported Thursday.
According to figures provided by the German-Russian Chamber of Commerce, bilateral trade between the two countries grew to 6.7 billion euros (7.3 billion dollars) in January and February, up 43 percent over the same period of last year.
Exports from Germany to Russia increased 26 percent in the period mentioned above, compared with a rise of about 55 percent in Russian exports to Germany.
The chamber cited an overall improvement in the Russian economy and a rise in oil prices as major factors contributing to the growth of German-Russian trade.
In 2016, bilateral trade in goods between Germany and Russia fell by 11.1 percent over the year of 2015.
