TOKYO, April 3 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks edged higher Monday as investors sought out bargains following the market's losing streak at the end of last week.
As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average rose 22.79 points, or 0.12 percent, from Friday to 18,932.05.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, inched up 1.88 points, or 0.12 percent, to 1,514.48.
Air transportation and rubber product issues were among those that made notable gains in the first 15 minutes of trading.
