LASHKAR GAH, Afghanistan, March 23 (Xinhua) -- Afghan government forces have evacuated the strategically important Sangin district in the southern Helmand province after months of increasing pressure by Taliban militants, a member of Helmand's provincial council, Bashir Ahmad Shakir, said Thursday.
