SINGAPORE, March 20 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks finished lower on Monday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 3.68 points, or 0.12 percent, to close at 3,165.70.
A total of 1.75 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1.04 billion Singapore dollars (744.2 million U.S. dollars). Decliners outnumbered gainers 274 to 218.
The STI index gained 5.86 points, or 0.19 percent, to close at 3,169.38 on March 17.
