LONDON, March 8 (Xinhua) -- Two persons have died after a domestic stabbing at a flat in Britain's Wolverhampton, local police said on Wednesday.
Officers stormed the first floor apartment in a high-rise block in the city this morning. The male suspect, believed to be 36 years old, is understood to have turned the knife on himself and was pronounced dead a short time later, according to the police.
A woman believed to be in her 30s was found with fatal knife injuries and pronounced dead at the scene, while another woman, thought to be 59 years old, was taken to hospital with serious stab wounds to her abdomen, the police also said.
During the operation, two officers suffered minor knife injuries to their bodies.
"We understand the attacker and victims were known to each other but the precise nature of their relationship is unclear at this stage," said Wolverhampton Police Superintendent Keith Fraser.
