Options to build North-South Expressway in Vietnam proposed

HANOI, March 7 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's Ministry of Transport (MoT) has just proposed three options of building North-South Expressway to the country's government.

Specifically, the first option is that the state will sponsor an investment of 41.414 trillion Vietnamese dong (1.86 billion U.S. dollars) to build 467 km of the route, reported local Vietnam Economic Times on Tuesday.

Or the state will provide some 63 trillion Vietnamese dong (2.83 billion U.S. dollars) to build 916 km of the road while thirdly, the state will offer an assistance of 70 trillion Vietnamese dong (3.14 billion U.S. dollars) to build 1,015 km.

According to initial calculation of the MoT, some 3,900 households will be resettled. The land acquisition and resettlement assistance will cost over 27.4 trillion Vietnamese dong (1.23 billion U.S. dollars).
