YANGON, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) -- Nepal has re-established direct air link with Myanmar, with the Himalaya Airlines flying between Nepal's Tribhuvan International Airport and Myanmar's Yangon International Airport, the official Global New Light of Myanmar reported Monday.

As scheduled commercial flight, the Himalaya Airlines' flight to Myanmar is part of its initiative to strengthen direct connection with around 300,000 people of Nepali origin residing there, the sources said.

With the launch of twice weekly flight (Mondays and Fridays), which was inaugurated last Friday, the Himalaya Airlines resumed the direct air link with Myanmar after a long gap, before which Union of Burma Airways used to operate flight between Yangon and Kathmandu.
