OSLO, Feb. 16 (Xinhua) -- Registered unemployment among immigrants in Norway decreased to 6.5 percent in November 2016 from 7 percent in the same month in 2015, the country's statistics bureau said on Thursday.
Almost 28,700 immigrants were registered as unemployed at the end of November 2016, which is the reference time of the fourth quarter, Statistics Norway said in a report.
The unemployment rate was stable at 2.1 percent within the rest of the population in the month, it said.
African immigrants still have the highest unemployment rate, at 10.4 percent in the fourth quarter, which is due to the large percentage of refugees within this group, according to the report.
Next were immigrants from the EU countries in Eastern Europe at 7.4 percent. The immigrants from Asia and Latin America had 7 percent each, while those from Eastern Europe outside the EU had 6.1 percent registered unemployed, which is slightly below the immigrant average.
The remaining groups had rates far below the immigrant average: Western Europe (4.0 percent), North America and Oceania (3.7 percent) and the Nordic countries (2.9 percent), the report said.
