PHNOM PENH, Feb. 15 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia's Labor Minister Ith Samheng said on Wednesday that about 1.15 million Cambodians are working abroad, sending home 1.7 billion U.S. dollars per year.
The minister revealed the figures during the Labor Ministry's annual conference and added that those laborers are working mostly in Thailand, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan and Singapore.
Labor Ministry spokesman Heng Sour said last week that some 1.06 million Cambodians are working in Thailand, sending home about 1 billion U.S. dollars a year.
He added that about 360,000 of the Cambodian migrant workers in Thailand were undocumented.
