Jordan, Lebanon reiterate support for efforts to sustain ceasefire in Syria

AMMAN, Feb. 14 (Xinhua) -- Jordan and Lebanon on Tuesday reiterated the need to build on international efforts to sustain the ceasefire in Syria, the state-run Petra news agency reported.

At a meeting in Amman between King Abdullah II of Jordan and Lebanese President Michel Aoun, the two leaders looked into the impact of hosting a large number of Syrian refugees on the two countries.

On terrorism, the two sides stressed on the need to intensify efforts at regional and international levels to combat radical groups.

In this regard, the two leaders called for more Arab actions to address causes of concern to the Arab world.

Stressing the importance of the upcoming Arab Summit, they stressed on the need to unify Arab efforts and boost coordination to address mutual challenges.

The Lebanese president voiced support for Jordan's role in attaining peace in the Middle East and commended Jordan's efforts to combat terrorism and provide humanitarian support for the refugees.
