DHAKA, Feb. 14 (Xinhua) -- As elsewhere in the world, Bangladesh people on Tuesday celebrated Valentine's Day by presenting beloved ones with candy, flowers, chocolates and other gifts to show the feelings of love and affection.

Bangladesh capital Dhaka's parks, restaurants and eateries were chock-full of loved ones, especially young couples since Tuesday morning.

People of all ages in Dhaka are seen to celebrate their relationship and the joys of togetherness in a colorful manner.

The blazing red is the representative colors of the Valentine's Day in Bangladesh.

Like in previous years Bangladeshi girls were seen in red colored sarees and adorning floral ornaments, while boys were found wearing colorful panjabis in celebration of Valentine's Day, also called Saint Valentine's Day or the Feast of Saint Valentine.

"Valentine's Day is being celebrated in the whole country. We're also celebrating the day. We're so glad today. Happy Valentine's Day to all, "said Marzia Ahmed while enjoying a Valentine's Day program with her friend in Dhaka University.

"May all, parents, brothers and sisters have a year filled with love and prosperity."

Another Piash, who also came to Dhaka University Valentine's Day program along with her spouse, said across the world people are celebrating Valentine's Day.

"The day is also being celebrated in Bangladesh. Everybody should celebrate Valentine's Day. We are also celebrating the day. Best wishes to all on the occasion of Valentine's Day."

Zaman Ahmed, one of the organizers of a Valentine's Day Celebration Program in capital Dhaka, said not only young couples but all should celebrate the day to strengthen the relationship ties among all people.

He wished all people across the world happiness on the occasions of Valentine's Day and Pohela Falgun, first day of Spring of Bengali month Falgun, which was celebrated in Bangladesh on Monday.
