SYDNEY, Jan. 25 (Xinhua) -- A man in the Australian city of Woolongong, 90 km south of Sydney, is in a critical condition after his neighbor allegedly set attack dogs on him, doused him in fuel and lit the man on fire on Tuesday evening.
Police said the 45-year-old victim was walking with a woman, 44, outside a unit in a suburban area when an argument occurred with the alleged attacker, a 41-year-old man.
Paramedics were called to treat the man, who was then airlifted to a Sydney hospital for life threatening injuries.
The woman also suffered serious burns trying to put out the flames. She remains in a stable condition.
The alleged offender was arrested shortly after the incident and will appear in Woolongong local court Wednesday, where he will face charges of grievous bodily harm, intent to maim and laying down an explosive.
A search warrant has also been issued for the man's home.
