VALLETTA, Jan. 13 (Xinhua) -- The Maltese government had a deficit of two million euros (2.12 million U.S. dollars) in the third quarter of 2016, a considerable decrease when compared to the 20-million-euro deficit in the same quarter in 2015, Maltese authorities announced on Friday.
The reduction in deficit came about as government income saw an increase of 7.5 percent, amounting to 324 million euros in revenue from taxes.
In the first three quarters of 2016, government expenditure also saw a reduction of 24 million euros compared to 2015. Enditem
