BELGRADE, Jan. 12 (Xinhua) -- Red Star (Crvena Zvezda) played another good Euroleague game on their home court in Belgrade on Thursday, defeating Turkish champions Fenerbahce 75-73.

The two teams played a tight and even match from the first minute, and the victory in round 17 was uncertain until the very end of the fourth quarter, which Red Star concluded with a 6-0 series and stole the triumph from their rival.

Playmaker Charles Jenkins sealed the match with a successful two pointer 14 seconds before the buzzer.

The precise play of Ognjen Kuzmic with 21 points and 8 rebounds was the decisive factor in the victory for the home team, followed by Marko Simonovic (12 points) and Stefan Jovic (8 points, 8 assists).

On the Fenerbahce side, Ekpe Udoh and Luigi Datome scored 16 points each, while Bodgan Bogdanovic added 12.

Red Star coach Dejan Radonjic said at a press conference after the match that the team "played smart" in a highly-demanding game against a team that is among the favourites to win the competition.

"There have been a lot of emotions. We should continue thinking on the same basis and get ready for the next game. We know our priorities and what we will do next. We managed to play on the level of Fenerbahce and the victory came as a reward for that," Radonjic remarked.

His counterpart from the Turkish side Zelimir Obradovic congratulated Red Star and said that it had played a great game.

"It was a great game to watch, with lots of turnovers and tactical solutions. We needed to win in that last part of the match. The players of Red Star are young and very brave," Obradovic concluded.

Red Star are at 9-8 in the Euroleague, while Fenerbahce's are at 10-7. Next week, Red Star meets Maccabi in Tel Aviv, while Fenerbahce plays at home against Panathinaikos.
