YANGON, Jan. 11 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar has called on donor organizations and individuals in the country to make donation and take an active part in the implementation of the peace process by contributing as much as possible to the peace fund of the National Reconciliation and Peace Center (NRPC).
A bank account SF-004048 of the NRPC- Peace Fund has been opened at the Myanmar Economic Bank, Nay Pyi Taw branch for the purpose, said the NRPC in a statement made public Wednesday.
These funds will be allocated equitably and effectively in a beneficial manner, the statement said.
To handle international assistance for the peace process, Myanmar had also formed the Joint Coordinating Body For Peace Process Funding (JCB) on Dec, 20, 2016, chaired by State Counselor Aung San Suu Kyi.
Myanmar government has been placing special emphasis in the national reconciliation an peace process with a view to finding a solution for political problems through political means through negotiation and holding the 21st Century Panglong Conference.
The first 21st Century Panglong Conference was held in Nay Pyi Taw in Aug-Sept 2016, while the second is planned for February.
Aung San Suu Kyi has pledged her commitment to achieving lasting peace in the country in 2017, anticipating that the country's peace making efforts will meet with success in the year.
Suu Kyi called on all people of the country to march with purity of mind towards national reconciliation and peace as from the new year day.
Meanwhile, Myanmar's first regional national political dialogues between the government, armed groups and political parties began in Tanintharyi region, southernmost part of the country, on Jan. 5.
The dialogues is taking place in three districts of the region, namely Dawei, Myeik and Kawthaung separately until Jan. 17 and the dialogue for the whole region will be finalized on Jan. 23-25.
The regional national political dialogues for other two regions such as Kayin state and Nay Pyi Taw Council area will follow.
The outcome of all regional dialogues will be submitted to the Second Panglong Peace Conference in February in accordance with the National Ceasefire Agreement (NCA).
