CHANGCHUN, Jan. 4 (Xinhua) -- Seven people have been confirmed dead after a rest home caught fire in northeast China's Jilin Province Wednesday morning, local authorities said.
The fire broke out at 4:10 a.m. at a rest home in Chaoyang Township, Huinan County. The fire was put out at 4:27 a.m.
There were 39 aged people living in the privately-run rest home. Thirty-two of them were rescued by firefighters.
The cause of the fire was being investigated.
