She added to this with a runner-up slot at Wimbledon. She achieved a career-high ranking of world No. 1 on September 12, becoming the 22nd and oldest player to reach the No. 1 ranking for the first time. She also became the second player after China's Li Na to pocket two major titles while aged over 28.
