NAY PYI TAW, Dec. 27 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar will conduct surveys on local labor force twice in 2017 for economic and social policy making, said U Myo Aung, a Director General of Ministry of Labor, Irrigation and Population, Tuesday.
The surveys will emphasize on workforce, child labor, labor market information, unemployment rate, among others.
The first survey will be conducted in first three months of 2017 while the second will be in September, October and November. The results will be revealed in December, he said.
As Myanmar is an agro-based country, the surveys are set to be conducted in growing seasons, U Myo Aung added.
The country had conducted a labor force survey in 2015.
