Qatar grants 2.3 million USD in aid to Smart Tunisia

TUNIS, Dec. 13 (Xinhua) -- Tunisian Minister of Technology Anouar Maarouf announced the signing of an agreement on Tuesday between Qatari Non Governmental Organization Silatech and Smart Tunisia, an offshore sector program for companies in Tunisia, granting 2.3 millions U.S. dollars for digital transformation in Tunisia.

Maarouf said the partnership agreement is comprised of three parts including the transfer of know-how between both countries, employing Qatari public relations in favor of Tunisia and donating toward the Tunisian digital transformation.

He explained that Qatar represents an example for Tunisia to emulate regarding its digitalization experience.

The Smart Tunisia program was launched on Nov. 2015.

The ultimate objective of the program is positioning Tunisia as both a market leader in the French-speaking offshore sector as well as a technology hub for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Enditem
