WINDHOEK, Dec. 12 (Xinhua) -- A two-day forum on strengthening Namibia's health systems and attaining sustainable development goals opened in Windhoek Monday.
More than 200 representatives drawn from 47 World Health Organization member states are attending the forum.
The forum is a platform for policy-makers to review, discuss and coordinate inter-country health systems towards the attainment of the sustainable development goal on health.
In her opening address, the WHO regional director Matchidiso Moeti said Namibia should draw lessons from the Millennium Development Goals to strengthen the health system.
Moeti said Namibia, just like many other countries in Africa, is affected by lack of financial resources.
According to Moeti, to overcome most of the problems needs political will and commitment as well as reviewing policies and making funding available. Enditem
