HO CHI MINH CITY, Dec. 1 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam reported 119 serious food poisoning cases which affected 3,592 people, of whom 12 died, from January to November, while the respective figures were 129, some 3,900 and 18 in the same period last year, its Preventive Medicine Department said Thursday.
In November, 300 people in Vietnam were involved in eight food poisoning cases which claimed three lives. The country saw 12 food poisoning cases which affected 308 people in November 2015.
In the January-November period, Vietnam spotted 42,400 foot-and-mouth disease patients, 96,300 dengue fever cases, including 30 fatalities, and 93 Zika patients.
Vietnam detected 2,225 HIV carriers in November, raising the total to 231,400, of whom 87,300 have become AIDS patients. To date, 89,300 people in the country have died of AIDS-related causes.
