SINGAPORE, Nov. 16 (Xinhua) -- Singapore's Minister for Defence Ng Eng Hen has conveyed condolences to his New Zealand counterpart Gerry Brownlee, and offered Singapore Armed Forces' assistance for disaster relief and rescue efforts, said the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) via its official Facebook account cyberpioneer on Wednesday.
MINDEF said that the ministry is "saddened to hear of the recent earthquakes in New Zealand", which hit the South Island of New Zealand on Monday, claiming two deaths.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of New Zealand during this difficult time," added the ministry.
