CMC studies CPC session decisions, documents

BEIJING, Nov. 3 (Xinhua) -- The Central Military Commission (CMC) on Thursday called on its members to closely unite around the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core, and adhere to strict governance of the Party.

CMC members were urged to implement the spirit of the sixth plenary session of the 18th CPC Central Committee at a meeting on the study of the session's decisions and documents.

CMC members pledged efforts to build a stronger army, continue reforms, rule out negative influence from the corruption cases of former CMC vice chairmen Guo Boxiong and Xu Caihou, and prepare for the 19th CPC National Congress in 2017, according to a statement released after the meeting.

The meeting stressed that all CMC members, especially the leading cadres, should take the lead in promoting strict Party governance, building a clean army and upholding the core status of Xi, who is general secretary of the CPC Central Committee and CMC chairman.

CMC vice chairmen Fan Changlong and Xu Qiliang attended the meeting.
