CPC solicits opinions on intra-Party documents

BEIJING, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) -- The Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee had solicited opinions from non-Party persons on the drafts of two documents on Party governance, which were approved Thursday at a key meeting, according to a statement released Friday.

During a meeting held on Aug. 16, but only made public Friday, heads of non-Communist parties and the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce as well as representatives of non-party personage spoke on the two proposed documents: the norms of political life within the Party under the new situation and amendments to regulation on intra-Party supervision.

At the meeting, President Xi Jinping, who is also general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, promised to carefully study the valuable suggestions of the attendees.

Xi called on all non-Communist parties to stay true to the mission of multi-party cooperation and to continue to work with the CPC to realize the Chinese dream of national rejuvenation.

All non-Communist parties,the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, as well as personages without party affiliation should play their role as supervisors and offer straight-forward advices, said Xi.

The two documents were approved at the sixth plenary session of the 18th CPC Central Committee, which called on CPC members to resolutely safeguard the authority of the CPC Central Committee and its central, unified leadership while pushing forward the comprehensive and strict governance of the Party.

Members of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee Yu Zhengsheng, Liu Yunshan, Wang Qishan also attended the meeting.
