ISLAMABAD, Oct. 20 (Xinhua) -- At least two people were killed and nine others injured in a landmine blast in Pakistan's southwestern Sibbi district on Thursday, local Urdu media reported.
Dawn News reported that some local tribal elders were on the way back home after solving some disputes when their vehicle hit the landmine in Babar Kach area of Sibbi, the district located in the country's southwestern Balochistan province.
Police said one of the tribal elders died right on the spot while 10 others were shifted to a nearby hospital where one of them succumbed to injuries.
The officials said some unknown militants planted the landmine on the roadside and fled the scene.
The vehicle was completely destroyed in the explosion.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
Police cordoned off the area for investigations.
