ATHENS, Oct. 17 (Xinhua) -- Two people died in a small plane crash near Kalavryta in southern Greece, local authorities reported on Monday after locating its debris.
The single-engine Cessna with two persons on board took off from Megara air base on Sunday for a training flight.
According to the Civil Aviation Service, the airplane disappeared from radar on Sunday afternoon over the mountains of Achaia, in the northwestern part of the Peloponnese peninsula.
Due to thick fog in the area, the search teams were unable to locate the plane.
After 19 hours of search operation, a Super Puma helicopter located the remains of the Cessna airplane three km north of the ski center of Kalavryta on Monday. The pilot of the helicopter landed and found the bodies of the victims. Enditem
