SINGAPORE, Oct. 7 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks finished lower on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 9.98 points, or 0.35 percent, to close at 2,875.24.
A total of 1.69 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 871.9 million Singapore dollars (634.3 million U.S. dollars).
Decliners outnumbered gainers 198 to 166, while 543 others finished unchanged.
The STI gained 3.43 points, or 0.12 percent, to close at 2,885.22 on Thursday.
