ISLAMABAD, Oct. 7 (Xinhua) -- At least four people were killed and 16 others injured when twin blasts hit a passenger train in Pakistan's southwest Balochistan province on Friday afternoon, officials said.
Minister for Railways Khwaja Saad Rafique confirmed the train Jafar Express was hit by a remote controlled blast in Mach district, located some 50 km northeast of Balochistan's capital city Quetta.
Local Urdu TV channel Dunya said that the first blast hit two compartments of the train and as soon as the rescue teams gathered at the site, the second explosion happened.
The injured people have been shifted to a nearby hospital where at least four of them are said to be in critical condition.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet, but Rafique said that there is a group in Balochistan who is involved in targeting railway tracks and trains; however, he did not mention the name of the group.
The minister said that a suspect has been arrested from the blast site.
Police cordoned off the area for further investigations.
