TOKYO, Oct. 7 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo shares opened slightly lower Friday with investors locking in gains in the past four days.
As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average fell 3.97 points, or 0.02 percent, from Thursday to 16,895.13.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 0.37 points, or 0.03 percent, to 1,353.56.
Decliners were led by mining, insurance and rubber product issues.
