HO CHI MINH CITY, Oct. 1 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam registered 15,411 traffic accidents in the first three quarters of this year, which left 6,440 people dead and 13,473 others injured, the country's Traffic Police Department said on Saturday.
The numbers of traffic accidents, deaths and severe injuries and slight injuries caused by the accidents decreased, respectively, by 7.6 percent, 2 percent, 2.7 percent and 15 percent from the same period last year.
On average, in the first nine months of this year, Vietnam each day saw 56 traffic accidents which claimed 23 lives and injured 49 people, down in all the numbers of traffic accidents, fatalities and injuries, said the department.
