HO CHI MINH CITY, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) -- VN-Index, the stock market index of Ho Chi Minh (HCM) City bourse in south Vietnam, closed at 685.73 points on Friday, down 2.82 points, or 0.41 percent, against the previous trading day's closing session.
About 115.737 million shares worth 2.629 trillion Vietnamese dong (VND) (119.8 million U.S. dollars) changed hands at the southern HCM City Stock Exchange. Prices of 117 stocks went up, 125 stocks fell down, while 53 stocks remained unchanged.
VN30-Index, the new benchmark index for the southern bourse, which tracks the 30 leading stocks by both market capitalization and liquidity, closed at 668.44 points, down 1.86 points, or 0.28 percent.
A total of 52.620 million shares worth 1.432 trillion VND (65.27 million U.S. dollars) were traded on Friday.
