TOKYO, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo shares plunged Friday on increasing worries about the financial condition of Deutsche Bank as well as the firm yen.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average ended down 243.87 points, or 1.46 percent, from Thursday at 16,449.84.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange finished 20.47 points, or 1.52 percent, lower at 1,322.78.
Decliners were led by electric power and gas, marine transportation and financial issues.
The day's turnover was about 2,461 billion yen (around 24.27 billion U.S. dollars).
