TOKYO, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo shares opened lower Friday on the strong yen and Wall Street concerns overnight about the financial condition of Deutsche Bank.
As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average fell 243.95 points, or 1.46 percent, from Thursday to 16,449.76.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 23.60 points, or 1.76 percent, to 1,319.65.
Every industry category on the main section lost ground, led by insurance, financial and securities issues.
