PHNOM PENH, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Hor Namhong said Monday that Cambodia wants to see denuclearization on the Korean Peninsula.
The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK)'s tests of nuclear devices and ballistic missiles "are a threat to security in both the Korean Peninsula and the whole region," he told reporters.
"We want to see the denuclearization in the Korean Peninsula," he added.
He noted that DPRK's nuclear tests have violated relevant United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions and urged the DPRK to fully comply with all UNSC resolutions.
Hor Namhong, also an ex-foreign minister, also called on the DPRK to return to the six-party talks in order to maintain regional peace and stability.
The six-party talks, which involve DPRK, South Korea, the United States, China, Russia and Japan, were initiated in Beijing in August 2003, but have been stalled since December 2008. DPRK dropped out of the talks in April 2009.
