SKOPJE, Aug. 10 (Xinhua) -- Macedonia is assessing the level of damage caused by Saturday's torrential rain and floods that left at least 20 people dead and forced the evacuation of more than 1,000 in the capital, officials said Wednesday.
Assessment commissions have been deployed to the flood-affected areas to examine the level of damage and the amount of indemnity, Macedonian Minister of Labor and Social Policy Dime Spasov said.
Local media reported that about 60 tons of water and over 8,000 food packages have been distributed to the affected families in recent days to cope with the current situation.
About 80 Red Cross servicemen and volunteers are helping the people who affected by the floods in Skopje, according to reports. Enditem
