NEW DELHI, Aug. 10 (Xinhua) -- A boy has been injured in a bomb blast in the northeastern Indian state of Manipur on Wednesday morning, a senior police official said.
"The blast took place near a para-military camp in the state capital Imphal around 9 a.m. local time. The victim was playing nearby when he was hit by splinters," he said.
The boy was taken to a local hospital where he said to be out of danger, the official said, adding that security forces have surrounded area and launched a massive manhunt.
Attacks on Indian security forces in the state are not uncommon. In May, some personnel of Border Security Force were ambushed by militants while they were patrolling in Thoubal district.
