"Skiptrace" dominates Chinese box office

BEIJING, Aug. 2 (Xinhua) -- "Skiptrace" continues to dominate the Chinese box office, earning 324 million yuan (48.8 million U.S. dollars) in the week ending July 31, China Film News reported Monday.

The action comedy, starring Jackie Chan, has raked in 732 million yuan since its release on July 21.

Domestic fantasy "League of Gods" stood in second place with 200 million yuan in sales in its first week in Chinese theaters.

Warner Bros.' "The Legend of Tarzan," starring Alexander Skarsgard and Margot Robbie, dropped to third place with 94 million yuan in sales last week. It has made 277 million yuan since July 19.

Japanese animation "Doraemon" took fourth place, with 43 million yuan in sales last week, and a total 97 million yuan since hitting screens on July 22.

Rounding out the top five was domestic animation "Yugo & Lala 3," which grossed 39 million yuan on its debut weekend.

BEIJING, Aug. 2 (Xinhua) -- "Skiptrace" continues to dominate the Chinese box office, earning 324 million yuan (48.8 million U.S. dollars) in the week ending July 31, China Film News reported Monday.
