YUSHAN, CHINA, July 27 (Xinhua) -- World No. 1, the 2016 World Championship winner Mark Selby said early goodbye by losing to No.33 Thepchaiya Un-Nooh of Thailand 3-5 in the second round at the 2016 Snooker World Open in Yushan county, China here on Wednesday.

The Thai attacker soon established a 2-0 advantage only to see Selby made it 2-2 before the break. Each player won one more frame later, but a 91-point break helped Theochaiya get the set point 4-3. The last frame witnessed two successful snookers made by Selby to surpass by 52-47, but his good luck stopped when he missed the yellow to lose 56-67 at the end.

"It' s a disappointment to lose, but he played well from the first frame of the match," said Mark Selby, "I tried to give my best but that wasn' t good enough."

He also encouraged Thepchaiya Un-Nooh, who was known for missing two 147-point break in the past season. "I think everybody on the tour was able to make 147s, you need to deal with the pressures, Thepchaiya is a great player with great talent, yeah, unfortunately for him to miss two but I' m sure he will get the chance. "

"I made my first in Thailand, although it' s not a professional one. And I look forward to the next." said Thepchaiya. Before defeating Selby, he had already impressed Chinese audience when he made to the semifinal of Daqing International Championship last year. Enditem
