HELSINKI, July 22 (Xinhua)-- At least two people died and several others were injured following a multi-vehicle collision in Hameelinna, southern Finland, on Friday afternoon, local media reported.
Eight cars and one truck with 16 people were involved in the fatal collision, said the rescue department. The injured were transferred to hospital and none of them were in immediate danger of death, reported Finnish news agency STT.
An eyewitness told the Finnish daily Iltalehti's that the truck turned over and two cars on its side were crushed. Several other cars seemed to have been damaged.
According to the preliminary estimate made by the police, the motorway's lanes towards north in Hameelinna would be closed for several hours.
