BERLIN, July 15 (Xinhua) -- England substitute Isaiah Brown scored late to ensure a 2-1 comeback win over the Netherlands at the second match in Group B of the UEFA U-19 European Championship held in Germany on Thursday.

The Dutchmen took the lead through Sam Lammer while Dominci Solande and Brown were on target to turn the tides, allowing England to move atop the standings in Group B.

The Netherlands started highly motivated and grabbed the goal just 10 minutes into the match as Lammers capitalized on a misplaced return pass to beat England's goalkeeper Freddie Woodman into the far post corner.

England remained unfazed and responded well to the setback as Solanke made a spin move at the edge of the box to unleash an accurate finish to restore parity after 36 minutes.

After the restart, both teams focussed on their defensive performance to reap crucial points in the top clash. However, just when the spectators settled for a draw in the closing period, substitute Brown flabbergasted the Netherlands with a left-footed strike to make it 2-1 on the scoreboards in the 92nd minute.

"It was a very balanced match. The Dutchmen played a good first half but we were better in the second period," England coach Adrian Boothroyd said.

With the result, England booked its berth for the semifinals as it tops Group B with two wins, followed by the Netherlands, France and Croatia. Enditem
