SHIJIAZHUANG, June 17 (Xinhua) -- Leading government officials from China and Central and Eastern European countries (CEEC) passed a consensus for cooperation in the northern Chinese city of Tangshan on Friday.
The officials from 15 Chinese provincial regions and their counterparts from 16 members of the CEEC attended the third China-CEEC Local Leaders' Meeting.
The consensus is aimed at promoting interconnectivity at the local level, boosting trade and investment, carrying out international capacity cooperation and working together in energy conservation, environmental protection, clean energy and other areas.
The meeting also decided Bulgaria would be host of the next meeting. Five cities and organizations including Macedonia's Skopje were officially admitted as new members of the association of Chinese and CEEC provincial regions.
The first meeting was held in China's Chongqing Municipality in 2013, followed by a second meeting in Prague last year.
